Every firm eventually decides how much of its own machinery it will build. We decided early. oakpool runs on a stack we have assembled and refined over years: Slack, Google Workspace, Claude, Supermetrics, the social and advertising platforms we manage for our clients, and a set of internal tools we wrote ourselves.
We never stop rebuilding how we work. The projects in motion now are real, and an aspiring engineer who joins them will watch their work make a difference inside a living business. We are looking for two students to join us midstream.

Who should apply
The best candidates have built something nobody asked them to build: a script that spared a roommate an hour of drudgery, a bot that tamed a club’s group chat, a side project that solved a problem the builder found irritating. We prize that instinct above any transcript.
Our interns work directly with the leaders of the initiative, people who know our business intimately and have built much of what we run on. Interns will help make real decisions, learn to explain tradeoffs in plain language, and defend their choices on the merits. A builder who can do all three acquires a skill that many engineers spend years without.
Why oakpool
We are a marketing agency for founder & family-led brands, with roughly 40 people across the United States and Mexico City. We also build oakpool.ai, a platform that measures and improves how brands appear in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. Few places let a student watch a services firm and a software product operate side by side. Ours does.
One role is fully remote. The other is based in Mexico City and splits time between our team there and remote work. Both are unpaid, with flexible hours built around a course load. Each intern receives a written learning plan at the start of the term and presents their work to firm leadership at its close. Where a school offers academic credit, we are glad to support it. Spanish is welcome in both roles and especially useful in Mexico City.
How to apply
Use the links above to apply through LinkedIn.
Then: Send us something you built, with two sentences on why you built it, and one paragraph on a process you have seen that technology could make meaningfully better. We read every submission, and we weigh the work far more heavily than the résumé.
