Alex Ford is an outdoorsman, writer, and entrepreneur focused on how brands grow with clarity and consistency over time. He is the co-founder of oakpool, a founder and employee-owned digital marketing firm that builds teams, systems, and software to help brands achieve sustainable growth. oakpool works globally, with team members and clients across the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe. Past and present clients include GORE-TEX, Goslings Rum, Caesars Entertainment, Chittum Skiffs, Boulder Boatworks, Nervous Waters, and Good Deed Entertainment.

At oakpool, Alex leads the company with a steady presence grounded in practice rather than hype. His approach to marketing is clear, technical, and rooted in craft — helping brands find their voice and build relationships that endure. He focuses on long-term systems and compounding growth, the way a river shapes stone: gradually, intentionally, with direction.

Before oakpool, Alex was on track to become a journalist. After college, a story he wrote about fly fishing in Cuba was pulled from a major US Newspaper, an experience that shifted his path — not away from storytelling, but toward building the platforms, tools, and capabilities that help others tell their stories well. He has worked in digital marketing for more than a decade.

Alex is a graduate of Bucknell University. He spends as much time as possible on or near the water — whether a river in British Columbia or a shallow flat in the Bahamas — places that taught him patience, persistence, and how to pay attention long before business did.
