Our 2025 Environmental Partners
Why We Give 1% Back
oakpool has always been built around a simple idea: growth should leave things better than we found them. We work with brands that care about the long term. We tell stories rooted in real places and real communities. And we spend much of our own time on rivers, coastlines, and wild water. Joining 1% for the Planet in 2022 was a natural extension of that philosophy.
1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses and individuals who commit one percent of annual revenue not profit to vetted environmental nonprofits. It’s a straightforward mechanism for making sure that the places we depend on are protected, restored, and studied with the rigor and care they deserve. No abstractions. Just a clean, measurable commitment to act.
In 2025, oakpool directed its 1% giving toward organizations doing high-leverage, science-driven work across fisheries, habitat restoration, and youth access to the outdoors. Each of them represents a different point along the conservation spectrum, and together they form a portfolio we’re proud to support.
Where We Gave in 2025
Elevate Youth
A Boston-based nonprofit creating access to nature for young people who might not otherwise have it. Elevate Youth pairs professional mentors with small groups of students and takes them into the outdoors hiking, fishing, camping, and learning the confidence that comes from moving through natural spaces. Their work builds the next generation of stewards.
Bonefish & Tarpon Trust
BTT leads research and policy efforts to protect bonefish, tarpon, and permit fisheries across the Caribbean, Florida, and the Gulf of Mexico. Their science underpins management decisions, habitat protections, and hatchery rebuilding efforts essential to the future of flats fisheries.
Atlantic Salmon Federation
ASF is one of the longest-standing and most respected conservation groups dedicated to restoring wild Atlantic salmon. Their work spans river restoration, dam removals, marine tracking, and international policy critical for a species facing decades of pressure from warming oceans and degraded spawning habitat.
American Saltwater Guides Association
ASGA advocates for science-based fisheries management from Maine to North Carolina. Their work is practical and policy-focused: better data, better decisions, and a more sustainable future for striped bass, bluefish, false albacore, and the communities that depend on them.
Wild Salmon Center
Based in the Pacific Northwest, WSC protects the “last, best” salmon strongholds from Alaska to northern Japan. Their model blends science, policy, and local partnerships to safeguard the world’s remaining wild salmon watersheds before they reach a point of no return.
Billion Oyster Project
A New York–based ecosystem restoration effort working to restore one billion live oysters to New York Harbor. Their approach is urban conservation at its best: oysters filter water, stabilize shorelines, and create marine habitat at a scale that meaningfully changes the health of a city’s waterways.
Looking Ahead
We built oakpool to be a company that creates more than it takes. Being a 1% for the Planet member is one small way we put that belief into practice. We’re happy to support this work and grateful to the organizations doing it every day. And as we grow, we’re committed to doing our part—responsibly, consistently, and with the same intention we bring to our clients and our craft.
