Pouring high octane gas on the fire
As we reflect on the first half of 2023, the oakpool team has a lot to be grateful for. We’ve added a number of valuable new team members and clients so far this year, and look forward to continuing to grow those relationships while building new ones. A spark that started with the kindling of a conversation between colleagues on a trout stream has grown into a significant and consistent blaze, providing warmth and entertainment to a growing cohort of contributors and partners.
That’s all a metaphorical way of saying, 5 years ago we were a couple of guys with a simple concept. Now as a team of over 40 contributors worldwide, servicing over 20 clients, managing millions of dollars in advertising spend, and growing 100% year over year, it’s time to pour some more fuel on our fire.
This particular gasoline comes in the form of a group of five senior advisors, each one bringing unique and valuable experience to the table. To that end, we are stoked to introduce oakpool’s board of advisors.
Colin Day
Colin is the founder and former CEO of iCIMS. An HR SaaS company that scaled to over $100M in ARR before selling to Vista Equity Partners in 2018. Colin now serves as an advisor to Susquehanna Growth Equity as well as a number of their portfolio companies. We look forward to having Colin’s perspective founding, managing, scaling, and exiting high growth technology companies at our table.
Nadine Hachach-Haram
Nadine is an NHS surgeon, the founder of Proximie, a Co-Managing Partner of KHP Ventures, and a faculty member at Singularity University. She is a leading voice in healthcare innovation and startups. As the founder of Proximie, Nadine has raised over $100M from investors including Fidelity’s F-Prime Capital. Nadine’s extensive experience in healthcare, innovation, and venture capital makes her an invaluable addition to our advisory board.
Amanda Orson
Amanda is an experienced executive, investor, and marketing entrepreneur. Most recently, Amanda served at the US CEO of London-based FinTech company, Curve. While at Curve, a company that has raised over $175M from investors including Paul Allen’s Vulcan Capital, Amanda led expansion in the US and Crypto markets. We look forward to having Amanda’s experience growing cross-functional international teams and deep sector experience in Fintech at our table.
Carter Nicholas
Carter has held senior roles, with a particular focus on European expansion, at AdTech companies like Integral Ad Science and DoubleClick (acquired by Google). Carter also has deep operational experience in the data sector, having served as CEO of eDataSource (acquired by SparkPost, a MessageBird company). Carter brings years of experience in AdTech, Data, and international expansion to our table.
Bardia Pourvakil
Currently, Bardia serves as head of developer relations at a16z-backed Replit, an online IDE. Before Replit, Bardia helped build the innovative note-taking platform Roam Research. Bardia brings a wealth of experience in scaling product and engineering organizations, and marketing to engineers, to our table at oakpool.
